3D files of the parts to be packaged are an advantage for our packaging designers in order to be able to develop complex, customized packaging. As these files cannot always be provided by the customer, we have recently been able to digitize the component in three dimensions.
Using the latest technology, we can capture your products/components or prototypes on site or at our premises.

We use a mobile hand-held scanner for this purpose, which enables precise and high-resolution 3D scans. Whether a complete engine or complex small components, almost anything can be measured and mapped on site.

We do not need extensive equipment for this. The scanner itself is ready for use in under two minutes, no matter where, and captures the component with up to 480,000 measurements/second.

The data generated can be used directly to develop a packaging solution. This is possible by working with an accuracy of up to 0.03mm.

The workflow is identical for almost all scanning processes and is as follows:

• Setting the reference points on the component (magnetic and reusable)
• Preparation of the scanning process (calibration, setting accuracy, etc.)
• Scanning the product
• Post-processing on the PC and finalization of the view
• Creating CAD-capable files

This modern technology enables us at Delta to develop packaging concepts for our customers and their end customers or consumers independently of external data. Always with the proviso – there is not one packaging for everything, but there is a packaging for everything.
